Today's the big day! Only $.31! Dad, Mom and I geared up with some sweatshirts and sneakers for our walk to Baskin Robbins. Today's high was only 64 degrees but that wasn't going to stop me from getting ice cream. We left the house at 16:48 hours. It takes about 5 minutes by foot.
We got there before 1700 hrs and the line was huge! We took our place at the end and started to plot our plan. I volunteered to go in first. I made my way through the treacherous line, dodging bratty screaming kids and drama queens from the intermediate school. I finally got inside. To the left of the store were all the nuts and candy ice cream. To the right were fruits and classic flavors. Mom said I can have as many scoops as I wanted as long as I ate them all. I had an idea of how many scoops and what kind I wanted. The first target would be Cookie Dough, next Heath, and lastly Oreo. I made way back to the Squad. I relayed my operational targets to Dad. Mom was up next. She fought her way through the line and entered the building. With my intel, mom went to the right of the store. She found her targets (Strawberry Cheesecake and Raspberry Cheese Louise) and was back in no time. Last was Dad. He went straight towards the candy and nut ice cream. His three targets were Heath, Peanut Butter Cup and Cookie Dough. By the time Dad got back we were almost face to face with the ice cream soldier. Mom fired out her order first. In no time flat she had her cone. Dad and I got ours and met Mom outside. We regrouped at our rally point and enjoyed the spoils of our ice cream recovery operation.
