I entered the AMR Pie Contest on Friday with my Oatmeal Pecan Pie with Chocolate Drizzle and came in first place!!!! There were only 4 of us and we are all friends, so it was more for fun than anything. Jen came in second with her Coconut Cream Pie. Stephanie came in third with her Strawberry Banana Pie and Tori came in fourth with her Grasshopper Pie (no, it contains no real grasshoppers! It's a yummy mint and chocolate pie!). I tried them all and they were all good! There was one other person that entered but she just dropped off her pie in the morning and left it. We all disqualified her because we were told we had to be there at 4pm with pie and recipe. She wasn't there so she should not be allowed to enter! We did eat her pie though. It was some sort of cookie pie to me. It tasted good, if it was a cookie!
Anyways, my cooking abilities were validated that day. It felt great to come in first place! I was just glad we all did it together. If I would have lost I would have wanted to lose to my friends. I have tried thier food before and they make some good stuff! I ended up winning a 3 in 1 cake stand which worked out perfect because I just broke my other glass cake stand about 2 weeks ago! Below is the recipe for the prize winning pie in case you want to make one for Thanksgiving. It's quick and easy and tastes good! Tori said she doesn't like Pecan Pie, but tried mine anyways and said it was yummy! :) ENJOY!
