Hey there people! I know it's been awhile. I've been in California the last week, hanging out with my
best friend from 3rd grade, Gina! We were living on Hickam AFB way back in the day. Anyways, she is now married to Marc, who just so happens to be in the Air Force. They also have a son, Aiden and a dog, Charlie. Marc is stationed at Travis AFB, California (near San Francisco). It just so happens that the space A hops goes from Hickam to Travis and back all the time. I put my name on the list back in June and just got around to getting out there. I got the first flight out and the first flight back! It was great! Gina and I spent the whole time shopping. I didn't realize how much I missed Kohl's until I was back in the store. They had such great sales! Then I hit up Trader Joe's (of course) and bought 6 bottles of wine. All of which I packed in my suitcase and brought home!
Gina bought me a beading book (to make my own jewelery) and reinspired me to start up again. I used to do it back in my JoAnne days. So off we went to Micheals!
I LOVE that store. I wish they had one in Hawaii. It's one the biggest and best craft stores around. Anyways, we bought lots of beads and seasonal items. They have these awesome chinese take out boxes every season, decorated for whatever holiday is coming up. Since Halloween and Thanksgiving are just around the corner, I bought a bunch of harvest and Halloween bags and boxes. Gearing up for my official Baking season, you know!
Speaking of harvest and fall and baking, my usual tradition is on Sept. 1, I bring out all my harvest candles and decor and decorate the house. Now that I am in Hawaii though, we don't have the cooling temperatures or change of seasons (not that we really did in TX and CA...but it did get cooler). So now I am debating on what to do. Do I bust out all the stuff? Or just leave it as is? Feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think.
I'll be posting some of my creations that I've made in the last week. I got one of my other friends, Jennifer and her daughter, Hunter into beading as well. So we've been working on several different designs. Gina has so reinspired me that I am even buying beads off of Ebay! They have awesome beads at cheap prices! Shipping sucks, but it's still worth it. I found a few EBay stores that actually cap the shipping at a certain price, so that's great! Keep an eye out for the pictures though!
Well, thanks for checking in and keep on coming back! Enjoy your day!
