The "S" Squad Chronicles

My first products!

Hey all!  Just wanted to check in with everyone during my "break."  I've been online downloading all kinds of pictures for my shirts.  I subscribed to a great site called clipart.com for a week and am trying to get as many pictures as I can.  Building the files take awhile, but once I have them I can reuse them on any shirt so things can be mixed and matched and I won't have to do the file work anymore!  I started out really simple because I am still learning about the heat press process.  But, here's what I got so far.  I'll update you later once I have more.  Plus, I'll be building another website for the shirts/onesies so keep a lookout for that too!

Christian Bale = Two Awesome Movies!!!

What would we do without Christian Bale?!?  There would be no Dark Knight!  I'm so happy today The Dark Knight opens!  We are going to go check it out this afternoon.  I originally saw Batman Begins on IMAX, but here in Hawaii it doesn't exist!  What's up with that?!?!  I loved the first one.  This Batman series seems so much better than the old ones (with Val Kilmer and George Clooney) and I think part of that is because it seems less "cartoony" (if that makes any sense).  I guess it's just hard to explain, but I love this new series.

The other movie I can't wait to see is Terminator Salvation, which coincidently also stars Christian Bale!  In this one he plays John Connor.  For all you that don't follow the Terminator movies (shut your mouth!) John is Sarah Connors son, the original woman who fought with Arnold Schwarzenegger against all the bad guys.  I gotta wait until summer of 2009 for that one though!  In the meantime, check out the trailers of these awesome movies!

S Squad Update

So sorry it's been awhile since my last post! Things have been going on full throttle here.  Little Todd's been on the go every day with the Teen Center, going to the beach, Hawaiian Waters, and Diamond Head hikes are just a few of the things he's been doing. 

Todd and I are finally getting S Squad Clothing off the ground!  We have a craft show on Aug. 2 at the Pearl Harbor Super Garage Sale and Craft Fair.  I've ordered my onesies today and started planning my designs.  We still need to make some business cards and order forms, but I think we can get everything done in time with some Rockstar and hustling!  I'll be sure to take some pictures of the event and let you know how it goes...we'll be keeping you posted as we crank out the shirts as well!

As for me, I joined the Coast Guard Spouses Association this week and am head of the Hospitality Committee!  Now I can bake away to my hearts desire and give the baked goods out to new CG families relocating to the island.  My responsibilities are to basically spread "Aloha"!  I love it!  I talked with Randi, the president of the CGSA, about what kind of help the association needed and she said anything that I wanted to contribute.  There are lots of different clubs within the organization like book clubs, Island Adventure Club, golf groups, etc.  Sometimes they have fund raisers to help bring in money to the association.  I'm contemplating on bringing up a bake sale.  You know how I love to bake!  I'll bring that up when I find out more information on the group and how it works. 

Well, I am back to figuring out some onesie designs!  I'll try to post more often, I know all you reader's are wondering what we've been up to!

Dave & Busters Weekend

Last weekend between my DIY project and sleeping in, we hit up Dave and Busters with our friends, Christy, Pottsy, Dori and Larry and all the kids (5 in all).  First we ate at Hooters, where I had gross mini hamburgers.  They sucked so bad.  It was like a dry, tiny, little piece of ground beef on a hard ass bun.  It came with 4 but I only ate 2 due to the high level of suckness.

After that we headed to Dave and Busters.  The kids all got the power play cards where they can play like 50 million games. All of us adults headed for the bar.  We had a few drinks there and watched the kids play before heading upstairs to the rooftop.  There was a band playing 80's that night from 6-8pm.  Christy and I headed up first and about 15 minutes later, Dori joined us. We had a great time watching people that can't dance, doing contests and winning more Dave and Buster play cards.  Click here to see other pictures from the night.
