Frog Hunting

Hey all! Scrap's here!  Just wanted to tell you about these little hopping things that come out at night.  My owners were outside the other night putting out some boxes for the trash guys and let me come out with them.  I was just minding my own business, peeing on some small bushes when all of a sudden I saw something jump in the grass!  I went over to inspect it and it started to hop away.  I started pawing at it and it jumped faster.  I heard my owners call it a frog.  I tried to pick it up with my mouth and just about threw up todays dinner!  Those little buggers tasted disgusting!  Believe me, I've licked some nasty things (my own butt included), but those frogs top it off.  I tried to eat some grass to get the taste out but it didn't work.  So then I just stuck to pawing at them.  There were two total that night.  I'll try to get my owners to let me out again at night soon so I can track down some more.  So far I've really enjoyed having my own yard.  Well, gotta go lick other parts of my body...bark at ya later!

Before & After

Aloha all!  We've been busy trying to get our house together and organized.  All the boxes are now unpacked and thrown out.  Our downstairs is finally set up, but our upstairs is still a wreck.  My goal is to get that done this weekend. 

We had a yard sale on this last Saturday and made $200!  Pretty good for small, odd items around the house.  The things that didn't sell we dropped off at the Hickam Thrift shop for donations. 

We also had a small get together two weeks ago.  Just the neighbors and some of our Coastie friends.  Todd made his famous ribs and Beer can chicken.  All the kids played while we adults all caught up and got to know our neighbors.  All was going well until around 11pm, the MPs (military police) showed up!  They said someone called them complaining about the noise.  It was pretty pathetic because we invited ALL our neighbors and we don't even have a stereo!  I had our measly little computer speakers hooked up to the lap top for some music.  I think the kids were louder than the music.  We have an idea on who called it in and they are now on the bottom of the cool neighbor list.  No baked goods for them!  The MPs were cool about it though.  Todd started joking with one guy, I guess he was some kind of supervisor guy or something because he wasn't in uniform like everyone else  (he was wearing dockers and boat shoes).  Todd asked if he had a boat because no one wears boat shoes anymore.  All the MPs were laughing.  Then he started asking if he was undercover.  It was pretty funny. 

Anyways, the night went well and we all had fun.  In the pictures below is how we set up the dining room for the party.  Normally we don't have the "buffet table" set up in the dining room.  I really like the front room.  It's the one with the dark chair set.  That's my favorite room in the whole house.  Remember what the house looked like before? Here it is now! :)

HAPPY BDAY TODD!

Today is Little Preteen Todd's birthday!  I made him the best ice cream cake ever!!!  It was a devil's food cake with Mint chocolate chip ice cream in the center.  I made it with an ocean scene and Happy Birthday in Hawaiian just for his first Hawaiian birthday ever.  Click on the picture to see more.  I wish we were more established here because then he could have had a cool birthday party.  Next time....we are having a BBQ tomorrow and a few of our neighbors will be stopping over.  Building future relationships everywhere....LOL.  Anyways, we went to Panda Express for Todd's birthday dinner (his favorite place) and there he opened his gift.  A new phone!  Yep, we are now officially Hawaiian.  We have 808 numbers!  I am still learning the new features on the phone (Todd and I have the same new phones, just different colors).  We also got him a Razor scooter so he can scoot around the base.  It was a pretty low key day, just the way we like it.  Mahalo to all that sent birthday wishes via email and phone.  Oh and in case your wondering our mail is finally up and going, so feel free to send snail mail!  Enjoy the birthday pics!

Household Goods Update

Hey there! Got word today that they'll be delivering household goods on Wednesday, June 11, 2008!!!  YEAH!  I'll be unpacked and set up by June 13 (Little Todd's BDay).  I am going to try to make him an ice cream cake now that my stuff will be here in time.  Also, it's all coming just in time for Father's day! :)  Be on the lookout for some more pictures after June 11th (when we also get internet!).

Turtle Alley

This weekend we rented a two man kayak from Hickam.  We went to Hickam Harbor and kayaked around the reef and beach.  Saturday we went further out than Friday and found an awesome spot which we named "Turtle Alley".  This area lots of sea turtles (honu in Hawaiian) swim around.  Todd and I were the only ones that went Saturday because Little Todd went to the 50th State Fair with the Teen Center.  It was so cool.  I of course didn't bring the camera so we decided to try again on Sunday.  Plus we can show Little Todd the turtles.  We saw several different ones.  One of them was a baby.  It swam over to us and poked his head out to see what we were up to.  I tried to video tape it but it didn't come out too well.  Here's some attempts of getting a picture of the bigger sea turtles.  You can kind of see them in the water.  They were about 10 feet from us!  It was so cool.  Whenever you all visit us, we're taking you to Turtle Alley!
